MIndfulness Training - 12th Jan 2010
Recent studies have provided evidence that increasing the mindfulness of a support worker can produce a substantial increase in the levels of happiness felt by individuals with profound multiple disabilities. In addition, mindfulness training considerably enhanced the ability of the residential home staff to effectively manage behaviors that may challenge services; this training can also enable some service users to manage their own emotions and behaviors DRH aim to offer all staff working within our services with mindfulness training based on the well researched work by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Singh et al. In addition nominated staff will be given training on simple mindful techniques that can be taught to individual service users as appropriate
